Projects
At present, I have four major ongoing research projects.
First and foremost, I am working on my dissertation research with Rick Paik Schoenberg, which focuses on distance measures for point patterns and their application in point pattern prototypes.
My second project focuses on teaching and education in statistics. Chris Barr and I founded Open Intro, a project to create an open source statistics textbook.
I also working on two problems associated with risk assessment. The first is an R package with Professor Nicolas Christou, called stockPortfolio, which we recently released to CRAN. My second risk assessment project is in collaboration with Philip Villanueva of the US Envrionmental Protection Agency in the evalution of a new exposure estimation procedure for pesticide in foods.
